As your next Governor, I, Doug Billings, will boldly lead Kansas in Making God a Focus Again, restoring the Judeo-Christian values that inspired our Founding Fathers and shaped our Republic. I believe, as our Founders did, that God inspired the creation of our nation and that our Founding Documents—the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution—are divinely guided works written by men. Kansas must return to its roots as a society grounded in faith, morality, and reverence for God, not as a theocracy, but as a Republic that honors its Christian heritage with pride and conviction.
I am not afraid to proclaim this truth loudly, boldly, and often. Our state has drifted far from the Founders’ intent, and nowhere is this clearer than the shameful decision on March 28, 2025, to allow a “satanic black mass” on the Kansas State Capitol grounds. Leaders from both parties, including the Democrat Governor and Republican Senate President, justified this travesty by cloaking it in “free speech” and “freedom of religion.” I reject this interpretation. The Founding Fathers did not intend to wrap satanism in the blanket of our sacred liberties. In their era, such an act would have been unthinkable, met with swift condemnation. As Governor, I will ensure no such desecration ever occurs on our Capitol grounds again. I will work with the legislature to enact clear policies that protect our public spaces from events that mock our Christian values while respecting constitutional boundaries.
My administration will steer Kansas back to the Founders’ vision by promoting policies that reflect our faith-based heritage. Through the Kansas Department of Government Efficiency (K-DOGE), I will review state agencies like the Department of Administration, which oversees Capitol grounds, to ensure their policies align with Kansas’ moral foundation. We will prioritize partnerships with faith-based organizations, including the Catholic Church and other Christian groups, to support families, save the lives of babies in unwanted pregnancies, strengthen communities, and provide compassionate services like pregnancy resource centers and adoption programs.
I will champion a culture that respects God in our public life. Every school day will begin with a moment of private prayer, as allowed by Kansas law, and the Pledge of Allegiance, reinforcing our unity under God. I will encourage faith-based initiatives that address social challenges, from poverty to addiction, drawing on the strength of our churches and religious communities. My administration will also protect religious liberty, ensuring Kansans can freely practice their faith without fear of government overreach or secular censorship.
As Governor, my Making God a Focus Again platform will restore Kansas as a beacon of Judeo-Christian values, where faith informs our laws, guides our communities, and unites our people. We will honor the Founders’ intent, reject the moral drift that has led us astray, and build a state that proudly reflects the divine inspiration of our Republic. Together, we will make Kansas a place where God is revered, and our heritage is celebrated without apology.
